Maestro Dobel Diamante is the expression that created the cristalino tequila category in 2008 — a unique blend of Reposado, Anejo, and Extra Anejo tequilas aged in European oak barrels, then double filtered to crystal clarity while retaining the complex vanilla, caramel, and oak character the three-age blend develops.

Before Diamante, no commercial producer had charcoal-filtered a multi-age anejo blend to crystal clarity. Juan Domingo Beckmann's innovation sparked an entirely new premium tequila category that now includes Don Julio 70, Patron Cristalino, 1800 Cristalino, and dozens more. Every cristalino tequila that exists is a direct descendant of the Diamante. Browse all Maestro Dobel at Wooden Cork.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Diamante really the first cristalino tequila?

Yes — released in 2008, Maestro Dobel Diamante is the original cristalino and the expression that created the category commercially. Don Julio 70 (2012), Patron Cristalino, and every other cristalino followed Diamante's innovation.

What does double filtered mean for the Diamante?

A two-stage filtration process that removes the amber color and some heavier wood compounds from the aged blend while retaining vanilla, caramel, and fruit character. The result is a crystal-clear spirit with aged tequila depth in a smooth, approachable format.
