Hendrick’s Gin is distilled at William Grant & Sons in Girvan, Scotland, using a rare Carter-Head still and a Bennett still, then infused with Bulgarian rose petals and fresh cucumber after distillation. The result is a flavor profile unlike any London Dry — less juniper-forward, more floral and fresh. The lineup includes Original (the benchmark), Orbium (quinine, wormwood, and blue lotus blossom for Martini lovers), Lunar (jasmine, rose, and chamomile for floral warmer-weather serves), Midsummer Solstice (elderflower and sun-warmed botanicals, limited seasonal), and the Cabinet of Curiosities experimental releases.

Two production differences define Hendrick’s. First, it uses both a Carter-Head still (which produces a lighter, more delicate spirit through vapor infusion) and a Bennett pot still (which produces a richer, more robust spirit) — the two are blended together. Second, Bulgarian rose petals and fresh cucumber are infused into the spirit after distillation, a step not permitted in London Dry gin. The result is a distinctly floral and fresh profile where juniper is present but not dominant.
The Original enhanced with three additional botanical infusions: quinine (from cinchona bark), wormwood, and blue lotus blossom. Each adds complexity without dramatically changing the Hendrick’s house character. Quinine adds a dry, tonic-like bitterness; wormwood adds herbaceous depth; blue lotus blossom adds floral lift. Orbium is specifically designed for Martini drinking — the bitter elements integrate exceptionally well with dry vermouth.
