Syrah

Syrah and Shiraz are the same grape — expressing differently by region. Northern Rhône Syrah (Hermitage, Cornas, Crozes-Hermítage, Côte-Rôtie) is structured, savory, and earthy: black olive, smoked meat, violet, and iron alongside the dark fruit. Australian Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is bold, plush, and fruit-forward: blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate, and vanilla from American and French oak. California Syrah falls between the two styles.
