Stranahan's 11 Year Bottled-in-Bond 250th Anniversary Edition is the distillery's first-ever Bottled-in-Bond release and the oldest Colorado Bottled-in-Bond whiskey to date — an 11-year American single malt made from 100% malted barley, bottled at 100 proof.
Created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado, this limited release unites American single malt character, extended maturation, and the strict standards of the Bottled-in-Bond designation. Made entirely from 100% malted barley, it was distilled at Stranahan's during a single distillation season from January through June 2015, then matured 11 years in new American white oak barrels with a level 3 char inside a federally bonded warehouse in Denver — far beyond the four-year Bottled-in-Bond minimum. After maturation it was cut to exactly 100 proof using Rocky Mountain water from Eldorado Springs, yielding a full-bodied single malt layered with baked orchard fruit, caramel, dark chocolate, molasses, charred oak, and warming spice.
