Uncut. Unfiltered. 18 years. Sazerac Rye 18 Year 2001 — from the BTAC program's second year of operation. Over two decades from primary distribution, the oldest Sazerac 18 Year vintage in the Wooden Cork collection and one of the oldest BTAC expressions available anywhere.

The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection was established in 2000. The 2001 Sazerac 18 Year is a second-year BTAC release — from the program's absolute founding era, years before it achieved the cultural status that now makes even recent vintages extraordinarily difficult to source. Over two decades later, surviving 2001 Sazerac bottles represent the BTAC program at its most historical and irreplaceable.

The BTAC was established with five expressions: George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, Eagle Rare 17 Year, and Sazerac Rye 18 Year. The 2001 Sazerac 18 Year is from the second full year of all five expressions being released together — a founding-era document of the most celebrated annual American whiskey program.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When was the BTAC established? The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection was established in 2000, with the five expressions (GTS, WLW, Handy, Eagle Rare 17 Year, Sazerac 18 Year) released together. The 2001 is from the program's second year — the absolute founding era when allocation was essentially open and the collection had not yet achieved its current legendary status.
  • Is the 2001 Sazerac the oldest BTAC expression in the collection? Yes — the 2001 Sazerac 18 Year is the oldest dated BTAC expression currently in stock at Wooden Cork, predating the GTS and WLW deep-vintage tier by several years.
  • Is the 2001 Sazerac 18 Year still available? Yes — one bottle. The oldest BTAC expression in the Wooden Cork catalog.
