Coffee liqueurs sit at the more dessert-forward end of the liqueur category, but the Laurel Canyon approach — starting from their own corn vodka base rather than industrial neutral spirit, and using French-press brewing with dark roasted beans for the coffee character — produces a more spirit-forward, distinctly craft-driven coffee liqueur than mass-market alternatives.
