Half Moon Bay Distillery was started after Ulli (originally from the northern Alps of Austria) and Caesar (originally from New York, with Dominican heritage) decided to build a distillery from scratch on the California coast. The brand is built around the same artisanal philosophy as the Austrian fruit brandy renaissance Ulli grew up around — high quality fruit and grain, excellent water, and the recognition that consumers value locally produced spirits.
