Fighting Cock is a straight bourbon aged for 6 years and bottled at 103 proof. Considering the proof and age, the whiskey offers a good value. This is a brand from Heaven Hill and was originally released as an 8 year old, 101 proof bourbon.
Fighting Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Spiced aromas - creamy fresh vanilla, a little stewed fruit, melted butter and oak.
Palate: Molasses, Demerara sugar and cereal sweetness. Becomes rich with butterscotch and cedar.
Finish: Cinnamon pastries and golden syrup.

It says on the back of the bottle that it's aged for three years, although there is older whisky in the blend. That having been said, if you find it on sale for 18 bucks a fifth it's a better value than A fifth of Evan Williams Black Label.
