Fair Kumquat Liquéur is produced by Fair Spirits in Cognac, France — a brand committed to Fairtrade-certified ingredients and sustainable production. Kumquat essence is extracted by maceration, producing a bright, sweet-tart citrus liqueur at 22% ABV. Kumquats are primarily grown in Southeast Asia; Fair sources them through Fairtrade supply chains.

Kumquat is distinctive among citrus fruits because the entire fruit — peel and flesh — is edible, with the peel being sweeter than the flesh (the reverse of most citrus). This produces a different flavor profile from standard orange or lemon liqueurs: sweet citrus up front with a tart, slightly bitter finish from the inner flesh. Fair’s Fairtrade approach means the kumquat growers receive guaranteed premium prices above commodity rates.
