Estancia Distillery Raicilla is an artisanal Mexican raicilla from Rio Chenery in Jalisco — founded by Chenery in 2014 after he left New York City to return to his family home and bring lesser-known Mexican distillates to international audiences. Raicilla is a Jalisco-region agave spirit category outside the formal mezcal denomination but within the historic agave-distillation tradition.

Estancia was built on the raicilla Rio Chenery had known since childhood and has expanded into a broader portfolio of unique Mexican agave spirits. The brand works in collaboration with local producers across Mexico, with the producer’s aim being to present distinct regional Mexican distillates to audiences that may have only encountered tequila and basic mezcal. Raicilla typically presents lighter, more floral, and less smoky than Oaxacan mezcal due to different agave varietals and production methods.
