Dalmore 12 is aged for the first nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, before half is transferred to ex-oloroso sherry casks for the final three years. The result is a whisky with a combination of sweetness and rich, sherried flavours.

All the things you probably love about bourbon are here no doubt. Reasonably priced to. I caught just hint of mustiness on the finish that I’m sure some people enjoy, attribute it to the cask, or part of the bourbon’s woody/grassy flavor profile. When I find that tone in a bourbon it’s a little off-putting. I would, and will, buy this again sometime even if it’s not in regular rotation.
