Cragganmore The Distillers Edition Double Matured 2023 is a Speyside single malt from John Smith’s 1869 distillery — the first purpose-built to take advantage of railway transport on Speyside — matured in oak casks then finished in Port wood for a two-stage maturation that adds depth and complexity to the characteristic Cragganmore clean, serious, and complex spirit produced by the distillery’s unique flat-top stills.

Cragganmore was built in 1869 by whisky legend John Smith — the first Speyside distillery purpose-built to take advantage of railway transport, allowing the whisky to reach market easily. Smith’s unique flat-top still design, which truncates the neck to encourage reflux and concentrates only the lighter, more subtle vapours, produces the characteristically clean, serious, and complex Cragganmore spirit. The Distillers Edition Port wood finish adds rounded sweetness and depth to the established character. Browse the full Scotch whisky collection at Wooden Cork.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Cragganmore’s distinctive flat-top stills?

Cragganmore’s flat-top stills have truncated necks rather than the standard rounded neck shape — the flat top encourages reflux (condensation back into the still during distillation) which concentrates only the lighter, more subtle vapours in the final spirit. The result is the characteristically clean, complex, and serious Cragganmore character. Order online with fast shipping.
