A 1999 Breeders' Cup commemorative bottling of Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select, produced under the Labrot & Graham name and still accompanied by its original dark green presentation tin.

The 1999 Breeders' Cup ran at Gulfstream Park in November of that year, and the commemorative design is etched directly into the glass — "Gulfstream Park — Breeders' Cup — November 1999" wrapped around the front of the bottle. The tin carries the Breeders' Cup 1999 emblem and the painted Labrot & Graham distillery scene used on the brand's packaging at the time.

Woodford Reserve launched in 1996 under the Labrot & Graham name, and bottles from that era — particularly event releases with their tins intact — have become steadily harder to find. The front label records this one as Batch 20, bottle 01425, at 45.2% ABV.

This is a vintage collectible rather than a current release. Please refer to the product photographs for the exact condition of the bottle, labels, closure, hang tag, fill level and tin.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Labrot & Graham? The historic Versailles, Kentucky distillery Brown-Forman restored in the 1990s and used to launch Woodford Reserve in 1996. Early bottles carry the Labrot & Graham name above the Woodford Reserve mark; the branding was simplified in the 2000s, which is what makes these earlier bottles identifiable on sight.
  • Does this come with the original tin? Yes. The dark green Breeders' Cup 1999 presentation tin is included, and its condition is shown in the product photographs.
  • Is this different whiskey from current Woodford Reserve? It's the same Distiller's Select expression at the same 90.4 proof, but it was made and bottled in 1999 under the Labrot & Graham name. The interest here is in the commemorative bottle, the era and the intact packaging rather than a different liquid.
