1000 Stories Gold Rush Red Wine is produced by 1000 Stories Winery in Mendocino County, California — a bold California red blend finished in bourbon barrels, adding a layer of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak to the ripe California fruit character. At $20–25, it is one of the most commercially successful bourbon-barrel-aged wines in the US market.

The bourbon barrel finish — typically 60 days in used bourbon casks — imparts measurable vanilla and caramel character without masking the red and dark fruit of the underlying blend. The wine is Zinfandel-forward with Petite Sirah and other varieties contributing color and structure.
