Glencadam 13 Year Old The Re-Awakening is a Highland single malt from Glencadam Distillery in Brechin — the only distillery in Angus and one of Scotland’s most historically significant single malt producers, having operated since 1825 — presenting a shimmering gold expression with floral and malty summer fruits on the nose, refined ripe fruit and smooth vanilla sweetness on the palate, and a full and rich finish with hints of oaky spice.

Glencadam Distillery was established in 1825 in the ancient cathedral city of Brechin, in the Highland region of Angus — the only distillery in the county of Angus, Scotland. The distillery was owned by Allied Domecq who closed it in 2000, before being purchased by Angus Dundee Distillers on 1 June 2003 and restarted immediately. The ‘Re-Awakening’ name refers to the distillery’s 2003 revival after the Allied Domecq closure — the 13-year expression being the standard range marker for the Brechin-Highland character that Angus Dundee’s stewardship has revived and developed. Historically Glencadam single malt was premium blending stock for prestigious blends; Angus Dundee’s first single malt release was the 15 Year in December 2005.
