Craigellachie 13 Year Old Single Malt Scotch is part of the Last Great Malts Collection from Dewar’s — a meaty, characterful Speyside single malt from a distillery known for its unusual worm tub condensers, which produce a notably sulphury and robust style that other producers historically struggled to incorporate. Named one of the “Best New Launches” at the 2015 World Whisky Awards.

Located in the heart of Speyside at the confluence of the rivers Fiddich and Spey, Craigellachie Distillery takes its name from the town meaning “rocky hill.” Built in 1891 by a group of blenders and merchants and designed by then-famous architect Charles Doig, the distillery has been described from its earliest days as “old-fashioned.” Craigellachie crafts its single malt from malted barley and spring water from Little Convall Hill, with the malt prepared in a wood-fired kiln before triple-distillation through two spirit stills — and the distillery uses rare worm tub condensers (rather than the now-standard shell-and-tube condensers) to impart its unusually strong flavors.

Master Blender Stephanie Macleod selected this 13 Year Old to showcase the very best of Craigellachie’s distinct character — which has been said to demonstrate the best elements of Speyside, both dark and light.
