Better than expected

I went into this purchase not expecting a ton, but found myself really enjoying it! Nice core bourbon notes, and doesn't try to "do too much". An easy sipper with lots of flavor that doesn't break the bank. What more could you want?

Smooth BIB Bourbon

This was my second BIB Bourbon, the other being Evan Williams BIB. EW BIB is a good budget bourbon for cocktails in particular. I've tried it straight but it's just not something I enjoy that way. That's why I decided to try Heaven Hill BIB 7yo Bourbon. It was recommended to me from someone at a reputable store that wasn't trying to push any specific bottles, so I looked around online and saw a good price for it here at Wooden Cork. It's much smoother than EW BIB, as it should be being more expensive. The Heaven Hill site had a recipe for the Boulevardier cocktail I've made once before with a lower proof Bourbon. I tried it again with this bottle and it was enjoyable, but I would reduce the Campari from 1oz to 3/4oz or somewhere in between next time. Overall, an enjoyable bottle straight, on the rocks & for cocktails, Cheers!

As expected but with minor shipping troubles

Ordered 3 bottles - love making an old fashioned with this bourbon. All arrived well packaged and undamaged. Price was 1/2 what the local shops charge (when you can find it) making the shipping costs worth it. It didn't ship out super fast and by the time it did I was out of town. UPS nearly returned the shipment to the sender. Know that you have to be there to sign. That if you miss the shipment you need the number off of the paper they leave on your door to change shipment OR to contact the shipper to adjust the shipment. I ended up having a neighbor run over and snap a photo of the door tag so that I could pay 8 bucks for UPS to hold it. Disaster averted. I'll toast to that.
