The "5+5" in its name signifies two phases of aging: the initial aging in the Caribbean in American oak barrels for five years, followed by a second aging in Spain for an additional five years in sherry casks that previously held the renowned Pedro Ximénez sherry. This dual aging imparts a remarkable depth of flavors and a luxurious velvety texture to the rum.
