The 2015 Second Release builds on the founding 2014 edition's toasted barrel concept — the same innovative process of finishing Kentucky straight bourbon in a second toasted (not charred) barrel to draw out caramelized hemicellulose compounds unavailable from standard charred-only aging. Together the 2014 and 2015 form a consecutive founding pair of the Michter's Toasted Barrel program's first two chapters.
