Tequila Ocho Barrel Proof Reposado Salto de Nogales 2026 is a cask-strength, single-estate reposado from Tequila Ocho — rested up to six months in ex-American whiskey barrels and bottled without chill filtration at 101 proof.
Tequila Ocho is the single-estate, vintage-dated tequila founded by master tequilero Carlos Camarena and the late Tomas Estes, made at Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, in the Jalisco Highlands. This bottling comes from a single field — the Salto de Nogales estate, with agave harvested in 2026 — and is the second release of the Barrel Proof Reposado after the 2025 debut from Rancho Las Raices. It rests up to six months in barrels previously used for American whiskey, roughly three times as long as the core Ocho Reposado, is blended from only a couple dozen barrels at a time, and is bottled at barrel proof, 50.5% ABV (101 proof), without chill filtration. As with every Ocho, the agave is slow-cooked in stone ovens, fermented in wooden vats with native airborne yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills with nothing added but water, so each edition tastes of one place and one harvest — here with more wood and weight behind the bright, agave-forward Highlands character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich cooked agave, cacao, milk chocolate, apple and cinnamon, prunes, red fruits, black pepper, and bright citrus, layered with caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.
Palate: Coffee, cacao, tobacco, cooked agave, and candied apple, with rosemary and smoky cinnamon.
Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, with sweet agave and peppery spice lingering over a whisper of oak.

It is bottled at the strength it comes from the barrel — 101 proof (50.5% ABV) — without chill filtration or dilution to a standard proof.
Which estate is the 2026 release from?
Salto de Nogales; the agave was harvested there in 2026, and the estate, harvest year, and bottle number are printed on the label.
How is it different from the 2025 Barrel Proof Reposado?
The 2025 debut came from Rancho Las Raices; the 2026 release is a different single estate, Salto de Nogales.
