Hendrick's Flora Adora Gin. Hendrick's Gin Palace, Girvan, South Ayrshire, Scotland — the fourth release in Lesley Gracie's Cabinet of Curiosities, a deeply floral limited edition inspired by the blooms most favored by pollinators in the Gin Palace's own walled gardens.

Hendrick's Flora Adora was inspired by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie's observations of the butterflies and bees at work in the botanical gardens surrounding the Gin Palace in Girvan. Watching which flowers the pollinators preferred most, she selected those specific blooms — including hibiscus and lavender — to form the botanical heart of this fourth Cabinet of Curiosities expression. Like all Hendrick's gins, Flora Adora starts with the signature dual-still base (Bennett pot still + Carter Head still), but the botanical bill is amplified with a dramatic bouquet of additional floral botanicals layered on top of the original rose and cucumber foundation.

The result is unequivocally the most floral gin in the Hendrick's lineup. Flora Adora is intensely perfumed and deliberately polarizing — Gracie has described the series as aiming to "celebrate the peculiar and instill wonder," and this expression delivers exactly that. It's best approached as a floral accent gin: mixed in the signature Wildgarden Cup cocktail (Flora Adora, lemon juice, simple syrup, soda, raspberries, mint, and cucumber) or in a G&T with cucumber, where tonic tempers the floral intensity and lets the botanical complexity breathe.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Intensely floral and perfumed — pungent rose water, lavender, and vanilla lead alongside jasmine-like notes of honeysuckle and tuberose. Juniper is subdued but present, with hints of chamomile and fruit.
  • Palate: Lush and floral. Lavender comes to the fore alongside confected fruit notes, peach, and rose. Juniper and coriander provide a herbaceous counterweight mid-palate. A peppery spice note adds structure before the finish.
  • Finish: Light, refreshing, and delicately floral with a crisp, dry close. Lavender lingers alongside a soft peppery note.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does Hendrick's Flora Adora taste like? Intensely floral — rose water, lavender, and honeysuckle dominate the nose. The palate is lush with lavender, peach, rose, and confected fruit, underpinned by juniper and coriander. The finish is crisp and dry with lingering lavender and pepper.
  • How is Flora Adora different from original Hendrick's? The original Hendrick's balances floral rose and cucumber notes within a classic gin structure. Flora Adora amplifies the floral character dramatically with additional botanicals including hibiscus and lavender, making it significantly more perfumed and flower-forward.
  • Is Flora Adora a limited release? Yes — it is part of Hendrick's Cabinet of Curiosities, a series of limited edition expressions from Master Distiller Lesley Gracie's experimental laboratory at the Gin Palace. Only one Cabinet of Curiosities expression is available at a time.
  • What is the best way to serve Flora Adora? The distillery's signature Wildgarden Cup (Flora Adora, lemon juice, simple syrup, soda, raspberries, mint, cucumber) is the ideal introduction. Also excellent in a G&T with cucumber, where the tonic tames the floral intensity. Best avoided in a Martini, where the florals can overwhelm vermouth.
  • What ABV is Hendrick's Flora Adora? 43.4% ABV (86.8 proof).
