Hendrick's Lunar is part of the Cabinet of Curiosities — Master Distiller Lesley Gracie's ongoing series of limited release expressions that push beyond the boundaries of the original Hendrick's recipe. Inspired by the moon and the night-blooming world, Lunar is built around heady aromas of night-scented flowers, exotic spices, and warm citrus oils that evoke the feeling of a warm evening garden under moonlight. Like all Hendrick's expressions, it uses the dual-still method — blending the Bennett pot still and Carter Head still distillates — but with a distinct botanical composition calibrated for floral warmth and spice rather than the crisp cucumber-rose character of the original.

Lunar is distinctly floral with a delicate spicy finish, and its botanical composition makes it particularly receptive to the addition of black pepper, which accentuates the gin's top notes. The signature serve suggested by Hendrick's is the Moonlight Buck — Lunar with ginger ale, lemon juice, and a cucumber garnish — though it also makes an exceptional Martini and a beautiful night-cap gin served neat.
