Diplomático Rum is produced at the Destilerías Unidas distillery in La Miel, Venezuela, combining both pot still and continuous column distillation — a combination that produces the distinctive rich, sweet, and complex character the brand is known for. All expressions are aged in American white oak and finished without artificial coloring or flavoring.

The distillery was founded in 1959 in the foothills of the Andes in Lara State, Venezuela. Sugar cane grown in the surrounding region produces both molasses (for the column still) and sugarcane honey (for the pot still), giving Diplomático a dual-origin base that most rum producers don’t replicate. The result is a sipping rum with genuine depth — caramel, dried fruit, vanilla, and chocolate — designed primarily for neat consumption rather than mixing.
