Blue Note | 17 Year Old Barrel Proof | Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a rollercoaster of expectation and there is no better realization than this 17yr Blue Note. Everything on paper screams that this should be a bitter, mineral forward, tannin bomb. What shows up, however, is a delightful fruit bowl of character, a rich chewy mouthfeel and the perfect amount of oak.
Nose: Big apple pie, spice drops, hone, cocoa, and a rich vanilla bean
Palate: Fudge, fresh apples, pear, blackberry, cherry, vanilla bean, and honeysuckle.
Finish: Smooth with lingering hints of vanilla.
