The 1970 was first created in Miyazaki, Japan by Ikeda Feingold’s grandmother.

In the summer of 1970 she mixed a cocktail using the fruits, botanicals and spices from her garden. For the last forty years the Feingold family has served The 1970 over three continents to family and friends.

In 2017 Ikeda bottled and launched The 1970 for everyone to enjoy. The base spirit is a four times distilled and filtered corn grain vodka infused with 18 botanicals, fruits and spices.

The 1970 can be enjoyed directly over ice, with soda or in your favorite cocktail. Pick one of the 19 ingredients to highlight and taste the magic.

Really unique and delicious

Besides using it in a cocktail, I’ve really enjoyed just sipping it chilled

Really nice and interesting

An interesting and complex drink without becoming weird and too herbally (like digestifs) or too sweet (like flavored vodkas). Really nice

Excellent summer cup

It’s delicious and most versatile - it can be drank straight, on the rocks or in a mixed drink.

Nice smooth alternative to whisky

The taste is complex, based on all the fruits and herbs infused within. But it still packs a wallop when imbibed straight or on the rocks. The only drawback is the postage. It cost more to ship than to purchase. This is rare in this area, so it may come to this again someday. But because of shipping costs, I'll definitely exhaust the local supply entirely!
