Booker's Bourbon Batch 2014-05 — the fifth batch of 2014, Kentucky straight bourbon uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof from center-cut rickhouse barrels aged 7 years, 5 months. At 127.9 proof, one of the higher-proof releases in the 2014 batch series.

Batch 2014-05 predates the naming system Booker's introduced in 2016. The 2014 releases are now over a decade from original bottling. The Jim Beam mashbill (75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley) at barrel proof and 7+ years of center-cut rickhouse aging produces the program's characteristic rich, oily, concentrated character. Comes in the signature Booker's wooden presentation box.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, baking spice. Palate: Full and concentrated — toffee, charred barrel, rye spice, brown sugar, dark fruit. Finish: Long and warming with persistent barrel spice.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Booker's Batch 2014-05 still available? Yes — available now.
  • Why did Booker's switch from numbered batches to named batches? In 2016, Booker's introduced the naming system — each batch named after a person, place, or memory from Booker Noe's life. The pre-2016 batches like 2014-05 use the year-number format, making them clearly identifiable as the pre-naming era.
