Bimber Distillery unveils The London Classic Rum

by Melita Kiely

London-based Bimber Distillery has added a single blended rum to its London Classics range, aimed at the millennial drinker.

Created by master distiller Darius Plazewski, The London Classic Rum was distilled from molasses at Bimber’s west London distillery in both copper pot and column stills. It has been designed to appeal to the “typical millennial rum drinker” looking for “something premium with unique flavours” but at an “affordable ‘house pour’ price”. Bottled at 40% abv, the rum will be available to purchase from retail launch partner Jeroboams from Friday 19 October at an RRP of £24.95 (US$33). It will subsequently be available from Speciality Drinks and Bimber’s online store from 22 October. Plazewski said: “It’s crystal clear in colour with fresh grassy top notes and a hint of cracked black pepper. “I’ve created a clean and smooth taste with a slight sweetness of dark Muscovado sugar. The finish is delicate and round with a hint of caramel and pinch of dark chocolate.”
