Puncher’s Chance Bourbon is crafted by Master Distiller Kevin Curtis in Kentucky — a marriage of 5- and 6-year-old barrels. The lineup includes Kentucky Straight Bourbon (90 proof, 75% corn / 13% rye / 12% barley), The Undisputed (single barrel, 108 proof), The Left Cross (14 Year, Jamaican rum cask finish), and The D12tance (12 Year).

Frequently Asked Questions

What does The Left Cross’s Jamaican rum cask finish add to a 14-year bourbon?

Jamaican rum casks are among the most flavorful finishing vessels available in American whiskey — Jamaican pot still rum is produced with very high ester levels (banana, overripe tropical fruit, funk) that saturate the wood during the rum’s aging period. When 14-year-old bourbon is finished in these casks, the oak has already developed deep vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit character from over a decade in new charred American oak. The Jamaican rum cask adds a layer on top: tropical fruit, banana, molasses, and a characteristic Jamaican funk that creates contrast with the bourbon’s traditional wood-forward profile. At 14 years, the bourbon base is old enough that the rum cask influence reads as a complement rather than an overlay — the wood has enough structural complexity that the rum character integrates alongside it rather than dominating. The Left Cross is one of the longer-aged rum cask finished bourbons commercially available, which is part of what makes the combination distinctive.

What is the difference between The Undisputed single barrel and the standard Kentucky Straight Bourbon?

The Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a small-batch blend of Kevin Curtis’s selected 5- and 6-year barrels, combined to produce a consistent house flavor profile at 90 proof. The Undisputed is a single-barrel release — each bottle comes from one individual barrel rather than a blended batch, bottled at 108 proof without water addition. The single-barrel format means no two bottles of The Undisputed are identical: barrel position in the rickhouse, specific fermentation batch, and individual aging conditions produce variation from bottle to bottle. At 108 proof, The Undisputed delivers significantly more intensity than the 90-proof standard expression — the concentration of flavor and heat is substantially higher, and adding water to taste is the recommended approach for most drinkers.
