La Rochère is France’s oldest continuously operating glass factory, established in 1475 in the forests of the Lorraine region, producing hand-crafted glassware combining over 550 years of tradition with modern design. Every piece is mouth-blown or pressed in the original Lorraine facility.

La Rochère’s glassware is produced using techniques developed over 550 years at the same site in Lorraine — the forest provided both the silica sand for glass and the wood fuel for the kilns when the factory was founded in 1475. The pressed glass technique used for many of La Rochère’s most recognizable collections (the bee, the fern, the abeille) creates shallow surface relief patterns that catch light differently than smooth glass, and the forms are designed to balance visual weight with practical function for everyday use.
All La Rochère glass is produced in Passavant-la-Rochère, Haute-Saône, in the Lorraine region of northeastern France — the same village and the same factory where the company was established in 1475, making it one of the few European glass producers to have remained continuously at its founding location for over five centuries.
