Booker's Bourbon is the bourbon that started the barrel proof movement. Created by Booker Noe — Jim Beam's grandson — in 1988, Booker's was the first commercially available uncut, unfiltered bourbon. Every batch is aged 6–8 years from the center-cut of the rickhouse and bottled straight from the barrel at natural proof — typically 120–130 proof. No water added. No chill filtration.
Each Booker's release is a named, numbered batch — not a consistent annual expression. Every batch is different: different barrels, different age, different proof, different flavor profile. Released three to four times per year, each batch is named with a story honoring Booker Noe's legacy.
At 120–130 proof, Booker's rewards a few drops of still water (not ice) to open up the aromatics — vanilla, dark caramel, charred oak, and baking spice. For cocktails, Booker's makes one of the most flavorful bases available for a spirit-forward Old Fashioned.
