Yellowstone debuts American single malt
Kentucky-based Limestone Branch Distillery has released its first American single malt whiskey under its Yellowstone brand.
Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey is the brand’s latest permanent expression. Aged for four years and bottled at 54% ABV, the new whiskey is made using a 100% barley malt mash bill. The whiskey offers a nose of cereal malt and honey, with a sweet, medium body that carries notes of honey, pear, stone fruit and dates. The finish contains notes of oak, with hints of cinnamon and English walnuts. “I’m proud of the success Yellowstone Select Bourbon has enjoyed since 2015 when I introduced my take on my family’s historic brand,” said Limestone Branch Distillery master distiller Stephen Beam. "This is a brand new category of American whiskey, and our offering is sure to become a favourite among Yellowstone Bourbon fans and fans of American single malt whiskeys alike.” The packaging features the brand’s iconic Lower Falls artwork and a more prominent version of the brand name, as well as a blue top-wrap to differentiate the single malt from other Yellowstone variants. The new whiskey will be available across the US from March, priced at US$54.99. The brand continues to support its namesake park through an ongoing partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), an independent organisation working to strengthen and protect national parks. To date, the producer has donated nearly US$370,000 to the NCPA. Luxco-owned Limestone Branch will also release its limited edition Yellowstone Family Recipe Bourbon in Europe next month.
