Whitley Neill debuts zero-ABV ‘gins’

by Alice Brooker

Halewood Artisanal Spirits-owned Whitley Neill has moved into the low-and-no category with the launch of four alcohol-free 'gins'.

The 0.0% ABV range is rolling out in UK supermarket Sainsbury’s this week. The quartet of alcohol-free 'gins' comprise Raspberry, Rhubarb & Ginger, Spiced Dry and Blood Orange. Rachel Adams, marketing director, Halewood Artisanal Spirits, said: “Over the last couple of years we’ve seen more and more consumers seeking to moderate their overall alcohol consumption. “We know these consumers are looking for well-known, well trusted brands. Therefore, as the UK’s number one premium gin brand, and the UK’s most-loved gin brand, Whitley Neill is in a prime place to fulfil this demand by offering a great tasting alcohol-free alternative to some of our most popular variants.” All four variants have been made with Whitley Neill gin, and de-alcoholised using a spinning cone vacuum column still. This process boils liquid at a much lower temperature, which helps to retain the flavours and top notes of Whitley Neill gin. The bottlings are available to buy in-store and online for £22 (US$24.88) per 700ml. In April, Whitley Neill added two flavoured gins, Pineapple and Peach, to its portfolio. Earlier this year, Halewood Artisanal Spirits hired a new managing director, Neil Jardine, for the UK and Eire business. Jardine joined the business from spirits producer and distributor Roust UK, where he led the innovation and sustainability programme in the UK, and focused on expanding its spirits portfolio to drive business growth.
