White Peak Distillery creates charity gin

by Melita Kiely

English producer White Peak Distillery has created a limited edition gin in partnership with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

White Peak’s Riverside Gin is made with hand-foraged botanicals sourced from the Trust’s reserves surrounding the distillery. It sits at 45% ABV. Only 442 bottles have been created, priced at RRP £33 (US$44) per 500ml bottle. For every bottle sold, White Peak Distillery will donate £3 (US$4) to the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. Max Vaughan, founder of White Peak Distillery, said: “After the popularity of our Riverside Gin recipe in 2019, we’re delighted to have created another batch to be able to support the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust again. “Hand-foraging the botanicals in our beautiful local area reminds us to appreciate the flavours that nature has to offer in our backyard. “Riverside Gin is unique both in terms of how it was created and how it tastes. It has a fresh minty flavour from the water mint, which is balanced with the creamy notes from the Himalayan balsam.”
Shining Cliff Winter Gin
Furthermore, White Peak has also bottled a second small batch, barrel-aged, spiced gin: Shining Cliff Winter Gin. Made with 11 botanicals, the gin is aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, sourced from Heaven Hill in Kentucky, US, for around three months. Bottled at 45% ABV, Shining Cliff Winter Gin is also priced at RRP £33 per 500ml bottle. Both expressions are available to purchase from the distillery via whitepeakdistillery.co.uk/shop.
