Whisky World offers ‘intense’ Kavalan Sherry cask whisky

Retailer The Whisky World has teamed up with Taiwan’s Kavalan Distillery to launch an exclusive single cask bottling.

Just 413 bottles of Kavalan Single Sherry Cask have been released for sale online through The Whisky World. The bottling contains cask strength (59.4%) ABV whisky aged in a single oloroso Sherry cask. “The Kavalan Single Sherry Cask previously held oloroso Sherry, with its deep colour and intense aroma providing a honeyed sweetness to the whisky with dried fruit and nut flavours,” said The Whisky World. “This type of powerfully Sherried-whisky is playfully known in the industry as a ‘Sherrybomb’, and because this was aged entirely in a first-fill cask, it’s one of the most intense.” Kavalan celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and launched its inaugural gin in January.
