Top spirits launches from March 2026

From sambuca and mezcal to flavoured gins and whiskies from varying regions, March had a new release for every spirits category.

You can't call March one-note for news spirits releases. The month's haul of new expressions saw ready-to-drink products, gins, rums, and Tequilas, plus several whiskies hailing from one side of the globe to the other. Standout launches included Glenmorangie's oldest core whisky expression and the first glimpse of Ellers Farm's Yorkshire-made single malt, slated to be released towards the end of the year. Ellers Farm plants seeds for inaugural whisky release

Ellers Farm Three Ridings Ricky Gervais-backed Ellers Farm Distillery unveiled its inaugural single malt English whisky, Three Ridings. The whisky’s name draws from the East, North, and West administrative areas of Yorkshire, known as Ridings. Its production marks a collaboration between three regional makers. The Ellers Farm team led on distillation, maturation and blending, Thomas Fawcett & Sons in Castleford malted the barley, and T&R Theakston brewery in Masham handled fermentation and brewing in developing the wash for the whisky. It will be available by the end of 2026 with 1,000 bottles in the first release (57.9% ABV). The whisky can be purchased online as part of the Evolution Collection for £500 (US$667), which also includes five 500ml new make spirits.

Archie Rose Opal Gin shines bright for women

Archie Rose Australian Opal Gin To mark International Women’s Day (8 March), Sydney-­based Archie Rose Distilling Co launched Australian Opal Gin. The gin was released in partnership with the National Gallery of Australia and as part of the distillery’s Creator Series. It celebrates local artists Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson, while supporting the National Gallery’s ‘Know My Name’ initiative. Its label combined Kee’s Oz Opal Scarf and Jackson’s Wildflower Tunic. The gin itself is said to reflect the Australian landscape with its classic dry style, enhanced by native Dorrigo pepperleaf, sunrise lime, and coriander seed. It has an ABV of 40% and availability of just 250 bottles, priced at AU$89 (US$63).

Sepulto Mezcal gets off the ground in Europe with Italian debut

Sepulto Mezcal Mezcal brand Sepulto has launched in Europe through a partnership with Stockholm-­based distributor AliasSmith. The brand first appeared at ProWein Düsseldorf in March. The mezcal’s name takes after the Latin word ‘sepultus,’ meaning ‘buried’, and which pays tribute to the region’s strong cultural connection to Día de los Muertos. It has two expressions in its range. The first, Sepulto Ensamble, combines three agave varieties native to Michoacán: Espadín, Manso Sahuayo, and Papalote. The second, Sepulto Single Agave, is crafted from Manso Sahuayo, a single regional agave variety that thrives in mineral­-rich soils. Both are certified artisanal mezcals with a designation of origin and distilled at Grupo PSA’s La Huaracha Casa Destiladora in Jiquilpan, Michoacán. Sepulto Mezcal is available in Italy with other European markets to follow.

French oak is the secret behind Ron Matusalem’s latest enigma

Ron Matusalem Enigma French Oak Ron Matusalem launched Enigma French Oak as the first addition to its Enigma series in 15 years. The 23 Solera rum was aged exclusively in ex­-Bordeaux oak barrels using the Solera system. It is bottled at 40% ABV, and has notes of red berries, moss, vanilla, honey, dried fruits, and a blend of sweet and herbaceous spices. It is presented in a wooden-­textured bottle with a natural cork wooden stopper and diamond­-effect glass. The Enigma range launched in 2010 with Gran Reserva American Oak. The range is said to embody the brand’s 150 years­-plus of mastery in ageing and selecting the world’s finest woods.

Highclere picks out peaches for flavoured gin entry

Highclere Castle Gin Peach Rose Highclere Castle Spirits entered the flavoured gin sector with the launch of Peach Rose. The gin draws inspiration from the summer gardens of Highclere Castle in Newbury, England. It is made using botanicals sourced from the estate, including oil from the Lady Carnarvon rose, estate­produced honey, and Italian white peaches grown on the estate during the summer season. “My vision with the Peach Rose was to capture the aromas and flavours of Highclere’s garden parties in peak summer,” said Adam von Gootkin, founder and chairman of Highclere Castle Spirits. “I was inspired by Sauternes. To replicate elements of the world’s finest wine as a gin has never been attempted until now.” Highclere Castle Peach Rose Gin sits at 40% ABV and retails in the US for US$31.99.

Third Eye Distillery sets sights on spiced rum

Third Eye Indian spirits producer Third Eye Distillery created a spiced rum brand called Lost & Found. Bottled at 40% ABV, Lost & Found was made in Goa using ingredients sourced from India. “India has always been a land where sugarcane and spice thrived long before rum became Caribbean; so it made sense to bring this story home,” said Rahul Mehra, CEO and co-­founder, Third Eye Distillery. “Lost & Found is shaped by the land we know, the monsoons that reset our seasons, coastlines that bring abundance, festivals that celebrate our harvests, and a food culture built on spice, craft, colour and flavour.” Lost & Found rum is available in Goa for INR 1,600 (US$17), with Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka to follow.

New Glen Moray whisky doesn’t fall far from the tree

Glen Moray Forbidden fruit, a single malt finished in Calvados casks, marks the third release in Glen Moray’s Xperience Collection. Joining previous releases Phoenix Rising and Twisted Vine in the Xperience Collection range, Forbidden Fruit was finished in French oak casks previously used to mature the French apple­based brandy, Calvados. The Speyside distillery’s team laid a single malt aged in Bourbon casks in the French oak to see how the Calvados would combine with Glen Moray’s Speyside profile. Forbidden Fruit is bottled at 40% ABV and retails for £32 (US$43).

Global Brands gives sambuca a shot with Nottari

Global Brands entered the sambuca market with Nottari, aiming to shake up a category that it believes has become “boring” in the UK. Craig Chapman, head of brand at Global Brands, said: “Go into any pub, bar or club in the UK and you’ll find sambuca, but quite frankly the category is boring. However, we feel that Nottari can bring some new attitude and energy, disrupt at the point of purchase to convert people to re- engage with sambuca and bring the category out of the shadows.” Nottari launched in the UK with two expressions, the ‘aromatic’ Bianca and the liquorice- infused Nero. Both have an ABV of 38% and are priced at £20.50 (US$27). “We’re not reinventing the wheel, but we are giving it a shot of adrenaline. We’ll be supporting venues with POS [point-­of­-sale] to make Nottari stand out and drive consumers to purchase,” added Chapman.

Three Sixty drops the sugar in its latest RTD variant

Three Sixty Vodka & Energy Drink Zero Sugar Schwarze und Schlichte ­owned Three Sixty Vodka added a canned sugar­-free energy drink to its ready-­to­-drink (RTD) range. Three Sixty Vodka & Energy Drink Zero Sugar is touted as Germany’s ‘first’ vodka RTD featuring a sugar-­free energy drink. The new product, in a white can, joins the brand’s Vodka & Energy RTD, which, according to Nielsen data, sold 3.9 million cans in 2025, with a 35% year­-on­-year rise in volume. Tim Hotfield, senior brand manager of Three Sixty Vodka, said: “Vodka & Energy is one of Germany’s most popular long drinks. With this launch, we are introducing the first RTD variant with a sugar­-free energy drink... underlining our ambition to actively help shape RTD trends.” The sugar-­free RTD is available in 330ml cans at 10% ABV nationwide in German retail. It has a recommended retail price of €2.89 (US$3.35).

Wiltshire gins dig into English heritage

Wiltshire Distilling English Heritage Gin Collection The Wiltshire Distilling Company collaborated with the English Heritage charity on a trio of gins inspired by the country’s historic sites. Titled The English Heritage Spirits Collection, each gin narrates the stories of three English heritage estates. The first gin, London Dry, is a classic gin inspired by Queen Victoria’s royal residence, Osborne House, on the Isle of Wight. The second edition, Blackberry & Rosehip Gin, is inspired by the Jacobean mansion Audley End House in Essex. The collection concludes with a Pomelo & Grapefruit Gin, inspired by the gardens of Wrest Park in Bedfordshire. All three expressions sit at 40% ABV, and retail for £40 (US$53).

New Glenmorangie 30 years in the making

Glenmorangie The Thirty Scotch producer Glenmorangie added to its core range with the launch of a 30­-year­-old single malt: The Thirty. The whisky is the oldest core expression in the distillery’s core range. It was created by Glenmorangie Company’s director of whisky creation, Dr Bill Lumsden MBE, and his team, who combined a selection of rare whiskies aged in Burgundy red wine casks for a minimum of 15 years with classic Bourbon cask­-matured Glenmorangie. Lumsden said: “Showcasing a whisky long finished in Burgundy casks, The Thirty balances richer, fruity flavours with hints of our signature, elegant style.” Glenmorangie The Thirty is bottled at 43% ABV and has a suggested retail price of £740 (US$989).

Nemiroff explores RTDs with low-alcohol Pangaia

Nemiroff Pangaia Ukrainian vodka Nemiroff entered the ready­-to-­drink (RTD) category with the launch of a new standalone brand, called Pangaia. Pangaia aims to provide a premium, flavour-­focused alternative to traditional hard seltzers and popular low-­alcohol beverages. The brand debuted with four flavours, each canned at 5% ABV: Strawberry & Mint; Bergamot & Mint; Mango Blossom; and Lychee & Rose. The range takes inspiration from the ancient supercontinent of Pangaea. Nemiroff CEO Yuriy Sorochynskiy said: “With Pangaia, we are exploring a new space for the brand.”

Nicoya brings Costa Rican rum to US

Nicoya Rum Costa Rican rum brand Nicoya entered the US market following its debut at the 2026 Miami Rum Congress. Made in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica in Central America, Nicoya rums are crafted from sugarcane grown on the same property in Costa Rica, where they are also distilled and aged. This process allows for complete control from cane to final blend. The brand’s range comprises four expressions: Blanco, Añejo aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels, Pineapple infused with pineapple extract, and Passion Fruit infused with maracuyá (passion fruit). Nicoya is available in the US through Total Wine & More, both online and in ­store.

Cazcabel spices up its Tequila range

Spirits launches Independent Tequila brand Cazcabel added a jalapeño­-flavoured blanco to its lineup. The expression is made by infusing the brand’s blanco with a natural jalapeño extract, which gives the Tequila earthy and citrus notes with a spicy finish. It is said to be perfect when adding a spicy kick to a Margarita or Paloma. Cazcabel Jalapeño Tequila Blanco (35% ABV) is available in Australia, the UK, the US, and Europe. Cazcabel has full field­-to­-glass control of its production, sourcing all its agave from its family estate and producing its Tequila at brand home Hacienda Cazcabel in San Francisco de Asis, Jalisco.

Bordeaux wine casks inspire DropWorks’ limited release

DropWorks Distiller’s Drop #002 English rum distillery DropWorks has released the second limited edition expression in its Distiller’s Drops series. DropWorks Distiller’s Drop #002 was aged for 28 months in Bordeaux red wine casks. It follows the series’ sell­out debut in November 2025, which was aged in English sweet chestnut casks. For Distiller’s Drop #002, the British­made rum has been matured for 28 months in Bordeaux red wine casks, imparting notes of wild strawberries, black pepper, and caramelised crème brûlée to the spirit. Lewis Hayes, founder and master distiller of DropWorks, said: “Since opening our doors in 2023, everything has been building towards our exclusive Drop series.” Limited to 900 bottles, Distiller’s Drop #002 is bottled at 50.7% ABV.
