Teeling expands Rising Reserve range
Irish whiskey producer Teeling has revealed the third instalment in its Rising Reserve 21-year-old single malt series.
Rising Reserve celebrates the 'global renaissance' of Irish whiskey and is dedicated to limited edition 21-year-old single malts from Teeling Distillery in Dublin. The Rising Reserve Series comprises five releases containing handpicked casks of the 'oldest and most interesting' single malts in the Teeling Whiskey reserves. These will be released over the next few years. The Rising Reserve line's third bottling was aged for 18 years in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished for three years in ex-ruby Port wine casks. Offered at Teeling's signature ABV of 46% without chill filtration, the whiskey displays notes of dark fruits, milk chocolate, orchard fruits, brown sugar and soft oak spice. Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling Whiskey, commented: “The Rising Reserve Series is a celebration of the incredible journey Irish whiskey has undertaken, from its storied past to the exciting future. Each release in this series reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of flavour and quality, and this latest expression is no exception. "With its unique character from its 21 years of maturation and dual cask maturation, we believe it will be a standout addition to any whiskey lover’s collection. It’s a testament to our passion for creating exceptional whiskeys that honour tradition while embracing the future of Irish distilling.” The third release is limited to 6,000 bottles and retails for €225 (US$247) for a 700ml bottle. It is available at the Teeling Distillery and The Celtic Whiskey Shop and will later be released in international markets. Earlier this year, Teeling released its oldest single malt, a 40-year-old, which was limited to just 140 bottles.
