Sipsmith creates Chilli & Lime Gin
Beam Suntory-owned Sipsmith has kicked off its new "experimental" Sipping Series with the release of a chilli and lime-flavoured gin.
Inspired by the brand’s Sipping Society members club, which creates limited release bottlings for its members, Sipsmith has created the “constantly evolving” Sipping Series of small-batch gins. The first release in the range of “experimental” gins is Sipsmith Chilli & Lime Gin, which was created by the brand’s head of ginovation, Ciarán Russell. Available online from Sipsmith and through retailers in the UK including Tesco and Waitrose, the chilli and lime-flavoured gin is said to be “ideal for gin lovers on the lookout for the latest flavour to try and perfect for the daring sipper”. Russell said: “At Sipsmith we’re committed to making uncompromisingly handcrafted gin which truly excites and inspires gin drinkers. We’re always on the lookout for ingredients which we believe could make delicious and exciting flavoured gin. “We decided that zesty limes paired with our blend of seven specially sourced and taste matched chillies for a kick of flavour was the ultimate way to launch our Sipping Series range and we hope that sippers agree.” The new gin is recommended served with tonic water, ice and a lime wedge, or as a twist in cocktails including Margaritas and Mojitos. Priced at £28.50 (US$35) per 700ml bottle, Sipsmith Chilli & Lime Gin is bottled at 40% ABV.
