Royal Salute marks Fashion Week

Chivas Brothers-owned blended Scotch whisky brand Royal Salute has partnered with designer Harris Reed to celebrate London Fashion Week.

To start the collaboration, Royal Salute master blender Sandy Hyslop hosted Reed for a private blending session at Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. Together, they crafted the 21-year-old blend. Reed used her signature demi-couture style to design a feather halo crown to represent London Fashion Week in three colours. Royal Salute Harris Reed Edition includes Sherry cask-matured whisky from Braeval Distillery, which brings notes of raisins and spice to the blend. The whisky is married in American oak barrels and also includes grain whisky finished in virgin oak barrels. Reed shares her thoughts on the partnership: “I always strive to focus my creativity on magnifying what’s on the inside, and diving into the depths of Royal Salute’s unique heritage and our shared passion for craft and pushing creative boundaries became a rich source of inspiration throughout our collaboration. Luxury is something to collect and treasure, and I am so delighted to share such an exceptional whisky that can be enjoyed and talked about around the globe.” The designer has also created an exclusive fashion collection of three distinct looks inspired by the three flagon designs. These looks are accompanied by matching bespoke headpieces that showcase the designer’s famed style and signify a new royalty theatrically coming to power. Royal Salute enlisted director Ruth Hogben to capture Reed’s journey of creativity, culminating in supermodel Erin O’Connor 'perfectly embodying' the inspiration behind this collaboration dressed in a bespoke Harris Reed creation for Royal Salute. Available from 12 September 2024, the release will coincide with London Fashion Week across select luxury retailers worldwide. Royal Salute 21-year-old Harris Reed Edition has an RRP of US$248 (£189/€225). Earlier this year, the blended Scotch whisky brand launched a prestige whisky collection inspired by the 62-gun salute.
