Rathfinny Estate launches Seven Sisters Gin

 

Sussex vineyard Rathfinny Wine Estate has produced its first spirit, named Seven Sisters Gin after the famous nearby cliffs.

Produced from a grape spirit made from the third pressing of grapes – or Rebêche – blended with a grain spirit at a distillery near Guildford, the gin includes nine as yet undisclosed botanicals. Owner Mark Driver describes the character of the Seven Sisters in a Rathfinny blog post as “a great classic gin”. “We’ve called it ‘Seven Sisters Gin’ after the magnificent chalk cliffs that border the English Channel between Eastbourne and Seaford that mark the beginning of the South Downs,” Driver writes. “Before long, we hope you’ll be able to enjoy a “Sisters and Tonic” or a “Sisters on Ice” at your local pub, club or restaurant.” Seven Sisters Gin will be available to buy in a 70cl format from the vineyard’s shop from 7 March. The Rathfinny Estate was established near the East Sussex village of Alfriston in 2010 with the ambition to produce world-class sparkling wine.
