Patrón unveils Art Deco Lalique decanter

Patrón Tequila has embarked on its second collaboration with French crystal house Lalique, launching a new Art Deco-style bottle priced at US$7,500.

In 2015, Patrón launched Patrón en Lalique: Serie 1 – a limited edition extra añejo Tequila housed in a Lalique-made Art Nouveau-style decanter. Patrón is now set to launch Patrón en Lalique: Serie 2, inspired by the influence of René Lalique, founder of Lalique crystal, on the Art Deco era, as well as “France and Mexico’s claim to the Art Deco movement”. Only 299 bottles of the new decanter have been created. Each has been individually numbered at Lalique’s glass factory in Wingen-sur-Moder, in Alsace, France. The bottle’s design features straight lines and a clear and frosted finish, inspired by the weber blue agave plant. Patrón’s bee emblem is detailed in gold enamel, while the decanter’s rounded crystal stopper is amber in colour. The liquid is a blend of extra añejo Tequilas that have been aged for an average of more than seven years in three different types of oak: American oak, French oak, and Spanish Sherry. “Both Patrón and Lalique are likeminded in our steadfast dedication and commitment to quality and craftsmanship,” said Ed Brown, president and CEO of Patrón Spirits International. “It’s what first brought us both together two years ago to create this first-of-its-kind collaboration, and those bonds are just as strong today as we proudly introduce the second release in this groundbreaking series.” Patrón en Lalique: Serie 2 (750ml) will be available from fine spirits retailers and select duty free stores across the world at an RRP of US$7,500.
