Opici Wines Adds Three New Whiskey Brands
Market Street Spirits, a division of Opici Wines founded in 2014, has expanded by adding three new brands of whiskey. The new lines are:
- Tullibardine Single Malt Scotch Whiskies
- The Temple Bar Whiskies
- Rebellion Bourbon and Rye
Tullibardine Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are produced by a family-owned distillery established in 1947 on the site of a former brewery in the Southern Highlands, dating back to 1488. Water from the Ochil Hills and the Danny Burn spring goes into Tullibardine single malts. The portfolio is:
- Sovereign Single Malt Scotch Whisky — $40 SRP
- 225 Sauternes Cask Finish — $45 SRP
- 228 Burgundy Cask Finish — $45 SRP
- 500 Sherry Cask Finish — $45 SRP
- 20-Year-Old — $150 SRP
- 25-Year-Old — $300 SRP
- The Murray Cask Strength 2004 Release — $80 SRP
- The Custodian 1962 Release — $3,000 SRP (30 bottles available in the U.S.)
- The Custodian 1970 Release — $1,600 SRP (12 bottles available in the U.S.)
- The Custodian 1952 Release — $1,600 SRP (one bottle of three available in the U.S.)
The Temple Bar Whiskey Company was launched in 2015. The Temple Bar revives an Irish tradition (whiskey bonding) in which pub owners bought whiskey in cask, before blending and bottling it for their customers. In 2005, The Temple Bar owner Tom Cleary started with his original Signature Blend Irish Whiskey. The Temple Bar is now available in thirteen states, with a national roll-out in the works:
- Signature Blend — $40 SRP
- 10-Year-Old Single Malt– $65 SRP
- 12-Year-Old Single Malt — $105 SRP
Rebellion Rye honors the “feisty farmers, who in 1794 stood up to fight devastating Federal taxes,” the company says. And fighting taxes is as American as bourbon and rye! Two new additions from Rebellion are now making their market debut, each bottled in glass, embossed with a beveled metallic gold logo, with their back-of-the-barn heritage alluded to with birch paper labels affixed and numbered by hand.
- Rebellion Rye: 2-/3-year old blend of 65% rye, 23% corn and 12% malted barley, 86° proof
- Rebellion Bourbon: 4-year-old blend of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley, 90° proof
- Rebellion Bourbon and Rye are line-priced at $33 SRP
Bourbon fans may also want to look out for Rebellion’s small batch, special edition 8-Year-Old Bourbon while stocks last.
