On The Rocks debuts Lemon Drop Martini
The Lemon Drop Martini is the latest permanent addition to the On The Rocks (OTR) bottled cocktail range in the US.
The OTR Lemon Drop Martini is made with Suntory's Effen Vodka and boasts a blend of citrus and herbal notes. Based on the brand’s internal survey, it found that 72% of key cocktail lovers have a preference for vodka. "Our cocktail lovers have spoken loud and clear – the Lemon Drop Martini is one of On The Rocks' most requested cocktails on social media," Carol Robert, managing director of US ready-to-drink at Suntory Global Spirits, said. "We have crafted a cocktail that not only meets expectations but sets the standard of exceptional cocktail experiences everywhere the bartender isn't. This timeless yet elevated addition reflects On The Rocks' dedication to delivering excellence and craftsmanship in every pour." The Lemon Drop Martini is bottled at 20% ABV and available in 375ml (US$13) and 750ml (US$25) formats. The cocktail shows notes of bright lemon, subtle basil and elderflower, and a touch of vanilla. It can be poured over ice or shaken with ice, strained into a martini glass and garnished with a lemon twist and sugar rim. "The Lemon Drop Martini is a timeless cocktail, and I'm thrilled to introduce its effortless elegance in a ready-to-serve format," brand ambassador Joaquín Simo added. "The classic Lemon Drop starts and finishes very clean and dry, while the On The Rocks Lemon Drop gently accents that essential dryness with hints of floral, herbal, and spice notes. It's the Lemon Drop you know and love, reimagined to match today's growing appreciation for botanical flavours." In October, OTR released a Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour as a autumn-inspired limited offering. The new bottled Martini continues the brand's embrace of seasonality as it is meant to capture springtime flavours. OTR was bought by Suntory Global Spirits (formerly Beam Suntory) in 2020.
