Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut 2022 to launch
Pernod Ricard has revealed this year’s limited edition bottling of Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut.
The brand ventured into the Black Forest in southwest Germany to find this year’s 48th ingredient: woodruff. To achieve the desired flavour, woodruff leaves were dried for several weeks, before being macerated in traditional Monkey 47 gin. Alexander Stein, founder of Monkey 47, said: “Now in its 12th year, this renowned cult classic continues to set the hearts of bartenders and gin enthusiasts around the world racing. “This year’s Distiller’s Cut is proof that good things really can be found right before your eyes. At the Black Forest Distillery, one of the experiences we’re really proud to offer guests is an exploration of the amazing ingredients that can be sourced within 47km of the distillery – this year’s Distiller’s Cut is a homage to these hidden gems, and further proof of how we leave no stone unturned when it comes to adventures of flavour.” The packaging has been given a green label as a nod to the woodruff leaves. Plus, the giftbox has been made using sustainable FSC paper. Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut 2022 is described as a ‘spicy and elegant’ dry gin, featuring top notes of cinnamon and vanilla. It will be available to purchase via monkey47kiosk.com through a raffle, which will be drawn on 14 October. Sitting at 47% ABV, the gin will be priced at RRP €79.95 (US$77). Earlier this year, Monkey 47 teamed up with streetwear brand A Bathing Ape to launch a limited edition bottle and capsule collection.
