Cincoro Tequila, part-owned by former basketball star Michael Jordan, has launched its fifth expression: Cincoro Gold.

The new bottling is a blend of Cincoro Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo. "Cincoro Gold joins only a handful of 100% de agave gold Tequilas,” said co-owner Emilia Fazzalari. “This rare Tequila blends all four Cincoro expressions, with generous amounts of Cincoro Extra Añejo Tequila, which is barrel aged for more than 40 months. “The result is an intense flavour experience, with notes of sweet honey, toasted oak, vanilla, and dried fruits. “The Cincoro Gold experience is reminiscent of a finely aged Scotch or Cognac.” The brand, which launched in 2019, is also co-founded by NBA owners Jeanie Buss of the Lakers, sports executive; Wes Edens of the Bucks; Fazzalari; and Wyc Grousbeck of the Celtics. "We began with a mission to create the world's finest Tequila and Cincoro Gold delivers on that mission," added Fazzalari. "We are committed to innovating to bring to market truly special and exceptional expressions that redefine luxury Tequila.” Cincoro Tequila is created with agave plants at least seven years of age from Jalisco, Mexico. The agave is then slow cooked and fermented for six days to retain and create flavours. All the brand's Tequilas begin as Cincoro Blanco and are then aged in American whiskey barrels. The brand has sold 1.5 million bottles nationally since its founding three years ago. Priced at US$349.99 per 750ml bottling, Cincoro Gold will be available in the US in October 2022, and online for exclusive pre-release through e-commerce platform Reserve Bar. In 2020, the Tequila brand donated 30% of online sales to the United States Bartenders’ Guild to support on-trade members affected by coronavirus.
