Third party spirits producer MGP Ingredients has launched its first own-label American rye whiskey brand – Rossville Union.

Named after the Lawrenceburg-based distillery, the range has been created to honour the “masters of rye” who work at the site and combine generations of “craftsmanship, heritage and passion”. Andrew Mansinne, vice president of brands at MGP Ingredients, said: "With Rossville Union we deliver two unique, perfectly balanced rye whiskeys that show our distilling and blending expertise and character at its boldest. "Rossville Union is crafted in the heart of rye whiskey country, in one of the most storied distilleries in the nation that has been in continuous production for almost two centuries." Two expressions have been launched under the Rossville Union brand – Master Crafted Straight Rye Whiskey and Master Crafted Barrel Proof Straight Rye Whiskey. Rossville Union Master Crafted Straight Rye Whiskey has been aged for at least four years in new American oak barrels and is bottled at 47% abv. It has "a sweet caramel nose, a fruit-forward palate and a smoky, spicy body that finishes clean". The Master Crafted Barrel Proof expression is bottled at 56.3% abv and is drawn from just 83 of the distillery's ageing barrels. It has a "spicy, vanilla nose, wood and caramel notes, and an exceptionally balanced oak and spice finish". Rossville Union Master Crafted Straight Rye Whiskey carries an RRP of US$39.99 per 750ml bottle, while Rossville Union Master Crafted Barrel Proof Straight Rye Whiskey is available for US$69.99 per 750ml bottle. The two rye whiskey expressions join MGP Ingredients range of spirits, which includes vodka and Bourbon expressions.
