Kraken fights plastic waste with new bottling

The Kraken Black Spiced Rum has partnered with ocean clean-up charity Surfers Against Sewage for its Salvage limited edition bottling.

Kraken Salvage edition rum features a ceramic design that includes raised and embossed details, combining the brand's trademark tentacles with a sandblasted matte finish. The brand will donate £1 from the sale of every bottle of its Salvage edition to the charity, which works with communities to protect oceans, beaches, wildlife and waves. Hugo Tagholm, chief executive at Surfers Against Sewage, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Kraken Black Spiced Rum who will be raising vital funds for our work to protect the marine environment through its very special limited edition Salvage bottle.” The spiced rum brand has announced plans to work with the charity on an ongoing basis to support its efforts to fight plastic pollution. The launch of the Kraken Rum Salvage bottle follows the release of a set of black metal Kraken straws earlier this year, designed to reduce drinkers reliance on single-use plastics. Earlier this year the spiced rum brand launched a campaign in the US to celebrate “epic storytelling” that starred The Walking Dead actor Tom Payne.
