Kevin Hart adds to Tequila line
American comedian Kevin Hart and Jose Cuervo have introduced an añejo Tequila to their Gran Coramino range.
Following the launch of his Gran Coramino Tequila in May this year, which saw the introduction of a reposado cristalino, Jumanji actor Hart is now adding an añejo offering to the series. "I couldn't be more excited to introduce Gran Coramino Añejo to the Tequila community," said Hart. "It's a truly sublime drink. Bringing Añejo to both Tequila connoisseurs and new Tequila drinkers alike has been a goal since we launched Gran Coramino – I'm positive everyone will love it as much as I do. I am so proud of this second expression and can't wait for everyone to see what else is to come." Plans to debut a Tequila range were teased on Hart’s Instagram as far back as February 2021. The American actor partnered with Proximo Spirits, the company behind the world's biggest-selling Tequila brand Jose Cuervo, and Global Brand Equities, to create Gran Coramino. Created with 11th generation Tequila producer Juan Domingo Beckmann, Gran Coramino Añejo Tequila is matured in both American and French oak barrels for 12 months, then blended with añejo reserves matured in ex-Cognac casks. The liquid boasts notes of butterscotch, toasted cacao, and coffee beans. The distilling and aging of the Tequila took place at the La Rojeña Distillery in Tequila, Mexico, said to be the oldest distillery in Latin America. Beckmann said: "Our first Tequila, Gran Coramino Cristalino was finished in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks to give it a sweet berry finish, but the magic touch to our Añejo is its incredible maturation process, using American and French oak barrels as well as reserves from ex-Cognac casks. “This is one of the most complex and robust añejos I have created, and will be attractive to both Tequila enthusiasts and Cognac drinkers alike. I am truly proud to bring this Tequila to the US." Gran Coramino Añejo will be available to purchase nationwide in the US in January 2023 on GranCoramino.com, and from 14 September across California, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, Florida, New York, Arizona and Ohio in all retailers, and online at Reserve Bar. The bottling will retail for RRP US$99.99. The brand will donate US$1 from each bottle sold of the Gran Coramino Tequila and the new Añejo to support diverse entrepreneurs and small businesses, working with partners in Mexico and the US to offer cash grants and programmes.
