Diageo has expanded Johnnie Walker's Blenders' Batch range with the launch of an expression aged in a wine cask, billed as a whisky suited for “all tastes”.Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Wine Cask Blend is the fourth expression in the range, following Red Rye Finish, Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish and Triple Grain American Oak. Aged in a wine cask, the whisky is described to be “an exceptionally fruity Scotch” and is said to have “lively fresh berry and sweet toffee flavours”, according to the company. Aimée Gibson, who led the development of the new expression, said: “With the Wine Cask Blend, we wanted to make a blend that can be enjoyed by all tastes, and especially by those people who might previously have thought that whisky isn’t for them.” David White, director & general manager of Moët Hennessy Diageo, Singapore, added: “At Diageo, we are committed to breakthrough innovation and experiments that push the boundaries in flavour - just as Johnnie Walker Black Label did more than a century ago.
