Jack Daniel’s extends Single Barrel range
Brown-Forman-owned Jack Daniel's has added a permanent higher-ABV rye whiskey to its Single Barrel Collection.
The latest addition to the Single Barrel Collection has been bottled straight from the barrel. The rye whiskey has a grain bill of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. “The combination of our unique rye grain bill and barrel house locations make for a special rye whiskey that perfectly balances bold and smooth,” said Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s master distiller. “We’ve offered our rye whiskey at barrel strength through special limited releases in the past, and the responses from the whiskey community have been overwhelmingly positive. Now we’re excited to have our Barrel Proof Rye as a permanent part of our whiskey offerings to give even more of our friends a chance to try this special expression.” The whiskey, whiched has been charcoal mellowed and aged in new, American white oak barrels, presents aromas of rich caramel and toasted fruits on the nose, with peppery rye finish. Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye is available in 750ml bottles, with an RRP US$59.99. The proof varies between 125 and 145 (62.5-72.5% ABV) depending on the barrel. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Collection comprises Single Barrel Select, Single Barrel Barrel Proof, Single Barrel Rye, and the new Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye. The brand's Single Barrel Rye is bottled at 47% ABV. In March, Jack Daniel's partnered with Coca-Cola to officially launch their ready-to-drink (RTD) can in Great Britain. In April, the brand released a limited edition bottle to commemorate its partnership with McLaren Racing.
