Hennessy launches Master Blender’s Selection N°2

Hennessy Cognac has unveiled the second version of its Master Blender's Selection, released as a limited-edition single batch.

Master Blender’s Selection N°2 has been aged for 18 months in "young course-grained French oak barrels". Further ageing then takes place in old barrels. The initial contact with the younger wood allows for "a balanced blend" and a produces a "gold-tinged dark amber hue". The tasting notes suggest flavours of liquorice, nutmeg and clove with "peppery spices". The blend is described as a one-off that will "never be replicated". It is bottled at 43% abv and available at selected outlets in the US from late 2017. Earlier this year, Hennessy named Renaud Fillioux de Gironde as its eighth generation master blender, taking over from Yann Fillioux.
